ABOUT VISITORS AND TRAFFIC FOR QFTR MUSIC
The map of recent visitors below resets and starts over once every month; the current month shows March 2011 visitors. About seventy percent of all visitors to QFTR Music are shown on this map.
This map is for interesting geographical information purposes only. QFTR produces no hype sites which are disfavored in search results and, for that matter, fail to automatically attract the everyday "fly by night" traffic that the sites featuring hype get. In other words and in general, hype sites naturally and automatically attract more traffic than serious, non-hype sites do. But hype sites have very few long visits since there is no reason to spend a lot of time on a hype site. The most important three traffic accomplishment parameters for a non-hype site will be:
--Number of visits in excess of 5 or 10 minutes
--Number of return visitors
--Number of visitors who come using a bookmark and NOT by using any kind of search link.
Since content in general and hype avoidance in particular are more important to us than traffic, QFTR does not care to any significant extent about how much traffic we get on this or on any of our sites.
The QFTR World Music Site is a no hype Site and, as such, does not seek the cheap, here today and gone tomorrow trafic that the hype sites go for. All QFTR cares about is posting the best music videos out there, with quality much more important than quantity for both the music and for the visits.
You could some all of this up by saying that QFTR Music is proudly low traffic and is happy that "fly by night" visitors don't come here.

WELCOME TO QUEST FOR THE RING MUSIC
USER GUIDE
Welcome to Quest Music, the hub page for all of the Quest for the Ring specialty music pages. The primary subject of the Quest for the Ring family of sites is basketball, but music is a fairly important satellite project.
Quest Music consists of this hub page and eleven music specialty pages that have various amounts of content on them. The Quest Music Specialty Pages Menu (found in this column) orders those pages according to importance and amount of content.
As of late 2009, some of the category sub music sites were actually more developed than Quest Music itself, which was at that time little more than an index page. It was long in coming, but a decision was made that starting on November 1 2009, more production effort would be put into the hub site.
The amount of time that can go into Quest Music, however, is still relatively limited, and so the emphasis here will be on very high quality, memorable music and on certain chosen artists, as opposed to volume or any degree of genre thoroughness. The production plan is for there to usually be one new music video posted per day.
There are two people who choose and post music videos. One of them is the main Quest for the Ring basketball writer and the other one is a female relative of his.
This is one of the most musically eclectic (diverse) sites you will ever see. You will mostly see the following types of music here: hip hop, rap, reggae, rhythm and blues, African, and Irish. Bet you never thought you would see that combination! Trust me, your musical interests will expand if you visit here from time to time. You will be exposed to music you never knew existed.
Use the label links near the top of the sidebar to check out particular artists; every artist we have posted will shown in the labels.
Below the daily posts, we will have a few state of the art music video jukeboxes of our absolutely most favorite artists: of the best and the brightest musicians.
In summary and in short, this site will consist of a mix of music video juke box players of the very best artists and the very best single music videos that we find. Think of the Quest Music hub page as a highlight mix of the best. Meanwhile, some of the sub pages, especially the Reggae and the Irish pages, are more complete representations of those types of music.
Unlike with the basketball protocol, the music posting protocol has not and will continue to not call for cross posting of all significant content going on a sub page on the hub page (this page). Therefore, there will continue to be content placed on sub pages that never appears on the home page. But also vice versa: content that appears here does not necessarily have to also go on one of the sub pages.
